Woody Point and its natural attractions
The lovely and historic Western Newfoundland village of Woody Point stretches along the shore of Bonne Bay across the water from the town of Norris Point in Newfoundland's Gros Morne National Park.
Gros Morne National Park was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987. The park is internationally renowned for its scenic beauty and rare geological features. It is also home to a rich variety of wildlife: we saw more than one moose by the side of the road during our visit. It was nice to see them beside rather than on the road, where they present a major hazard to drivers.
Visitors can hike through wild, uninhabited mountains and camp by the sea. ...
