Three Soldiers Remain Missing in Iraq
With DoD confirmation that remains found in late March in Iraq were those of Army Reserve SSgt. Keith (Matt) Maupin, missing since 2004, three U.S. soldiers remain missing there.
Then-Spc. Alex R. Jimenez of Lawrence, Mass., and then-Pvt. Byron W. Fouty of Waterford, Mich., have been missing since May 2007, when enemy forces attacked a patrol of soldiers with 4th Battalion, 31st Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), in Al Taqa, Iraq.
After a terrorist web site posted a video showing the military identification cards of the two soldiers, the DoD declared the men missing-captured in June.
