WASHINGTON, June 19 -- Sen. Max Baucus, D-Montana, has introduced the Energy Independence and Tax Relief Act of 2008 (S. 3125), legislation that would "amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to extend certain expiring provisions."

The bill was introduced on June 12. It was referred to the Senate Finance Committee.
