SEN. NELSON: DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY APPROPRIATIONS BILL TO EVALUATE FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY

The office of Sen. Ben Nelson, D-Neb., issued the following news release:

Today, Nebraska's Senator Ben Nelson announced that the Appropriations Committee completed its markup of the Fiscal Year 2009 Department of Homeland Security Appropriations bill. The bill includes Nelson language requiring a study of Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) effectiveness in administering Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) grants.
