AIUSA urges full deployment of peacekeepers

While the Sudanese Government continued to obstruct full deployment of United Nations peacekeepers, Amnesty International activists and allies took to the National Mall in Washington, D.C., on April 13 to urge President Bush to keep his promises to protect Darfuri civilians, especially the 1 million children who have been uprooted by the conflict. AIUSA set up five tents on the Mall, each containing an interactive exhibit that led visitors on a virtual tour of the lives of the 2.6 million Darfuri people who have so far been displaced.
