Violence prevention bill gathers momentum

The bipartisan International Violence Against Women Act (I-VAWA) is gaining support among legislators across the country thanks to the efforts of AIUSA activists. I-VAWA was introduced in the House of Representatives on April 30, and 16 senators are now cosponsoring the Senate bill, which was introduced in October 2007.

I-VAWA will coordinate and improve U.S. government efforts to stop the global crisis of violence against women and girls.
