The office of Sen. Ben Nelson, D-Neb., issued the following news release:
Today, Nebraska's Senator Ben Nelson vowed to continue his fight to restore federal funding for crime fighting efforts that keep drugs and violence out of our neighborhoods and cities. On Thursday, after negotiations with the White House, the House of Representatives passed a supplemental spending bill that excluded a boost in Byrne Justice Assistance Grant funding that the Senate added to the bill last month.
"The Administration let down local law enforcement and the Congress has now - irresponsibly - failed to correct this mistake," said Senator Nelson. "Washington has chosen politics over law enforcement and ...
