Ohio House Speaker Jon Husted - a Dayton-area Republican - wants to reform Cuyahoga County government by doing away with certain elected positions and have these posts appointed.
Husted must think Ohio's most populous county is some kind of plantation and he's the overseer and master, all rolled into one.
In short, he knows what's best for "us chilrun." And that doesn't sit well with this newspaper and those it serves.
We're concerned that Husted's call for county government reform could disenfranchise African-American voters by not allowing them to select elected officials on the county level. Moreover, if Cuyahoga County's form of government needs restructuring, then we submit that Ohio's ...
