Three Rivers hotel gets warm reception

Two city panels Monday voted in favor of a development deal for a new hotel on Copeland Avenue, extending the Three Rivers Plaza redevelopment north up the causeway.

Project developer NSD Hotel Associates plans to open the 92-unit Candlewood Suites by April 1, 2009.

The project is the second phase of Three Rivers Plaza, which includes a mix of condominium, retail and office buildings.

The proposed $4.8 million, 52,000-square-foot hotel will push redevelopment to the north, replacing Parr's Cars auto dealership, the former Chameleon Club and the former Psycle Werks buildings.
