WASHINGTON, June 24 -- Rep. Earl Blumenauer, D-Oregon, has introduced the Lewis and Clark Mount Hood Wilderness Act of 2008 (H.R. 6290), legislation that would "designate certain land in the State of Oregon as wilderness."

The bill, introduced on June 18, was co-sponsored by Reps. Peter DeFazio, D-Oregon; Darlene Hooley, D-Oregon; and David Wu, D-Oregon. It was referred to the House Natural Resources Committee.
