Local and overseas companies prepare to invest big in India

India is poised to witness an explosion of investment as local companies wake up to the potential of technical textiles, as domestic consumption starts to expand and as foreign companies enter the country.

The Indian textiles ministry's five-year awareness creation campaign promoting the use and production of technical textiles is finally showing results. New projects, products, and capacity expansions are the order of the day, as existing and new players enter this segment. And, while domestic consumption still remains low, almost all projects are aimed at this market.
