The Minnesota Department of Public Safety issued the following news release: The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) is investigating an officer-involved shooting that took place in Little Falls Tuesday. Officers from both the Morrison County Sheriff's Office and the Minnesota State Patrol were involved in the shooting.

At about 10:20 a.m., the Morrison County Sheriff's Office was notified that a gunman was holding approximately 10 hostages in the boardroom of the Morrison County Government Center. Officers from several agencies responded, helping evacuate a number of civilians and county employees from the building.
