The U.S. Army Special Operations Command issued the following news release:

Iraqi Security Forces captured five suspected Special Groups criminals in central Iraq, June 21-23.

The 8th Iraqi Army Division captured a suspected Special Groups criminal in Aziziayah, approximately 80 kilometers southeast of Baghdad, June 21. The suspect is known to collaborate with a wide variety of extremist groups and is said to be the single most intimidating figure in the Wasit province criminal element network. Reports indicate that he is a symbol of terror in the region, known for his violent tactics and cruelty, specifically the torture and murder of local government employees, ISF and their families.
