In recent years, the sheetfed printing market has undergone a major transformation as consolidation and digital technologies have impacted sheetfed printers. For sheetfed ink manufacturers who are also facing higher raw material, operational and transportation costs, as well as increased competition, the past few years have been challenging.

For the most part, sheetfed ink companies and their customers enjoyed a slight rebound in 2007. However, while there are plenty of concerns going forward and certain regions are facing more difficult times than others, ink manufacturers are cautiously optimistic about the market for 2008.
