So Hard to Choose...

To the Editor:

I was pleased to see the founding of the Environmental Division in 1970 included on the list "AIChE Centennial Celebration: Forty Mileposts of Professional and Institute Progress," which appeared in the April 2008 issue (pp. 62-63). The most important person in this effort was Don Dahlstrom, the first Chair of the Division.

Also missing from the list of important dates (as I am sure many items are for lack of space) was the founding of the three Progress series journals in 1982 by Larry Resen: Environmental Progress, Plant/Operations Progress (which has since been renamed Process Safety Progress) and Energy Progress (which ceased publication a few years ...
