ATTORNEY GENERAL CORBETT ANNOUNCES CHARGES AGAINST SEVEN ASSISTED LIVING EMPLOYEES ACCUSED OF PRESCRIPTION DRUG ABUSE

The Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office issued the following news release:

One nurse, an administrator and five resident assistants, who are employed by New Seasons Assisted Living, were charged today with stealing prescription drugs, specifically during their shifts.

Attorney General Tom Corbett said the investigation began in February 2008 after a night shift nurse contacted the office regarding numerous incidents of missing medication, resident assistants giving the wrong medication to patients and patients not receiving the prescribed medication for more than two days.

Corbett said that the investigation centered on Kimberly Zupon, 37, 506 Lawrence St., Old Forge, Lackawanna County. ...
