The office of Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., issued the following news release:
Today, U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) announced that she has included $450,000 for the Washington Workforce Association in an important Senate spending bill. The funding will go to the In-Demand Scholars Program which helps prepare high school students to enter secure, local, high-demand occupations in Washington's workforce through job shadowing, internships, and scholarships. The funding was included in the Senate Labor, Health, Human Services and Education (LHHS) Appropriations bill. The LHHS Appropriations bill cleared the full Appropriations Committee today and will next be considered by the full Senate. ...
