Article: North Carolina Inventors Develop Asymmetrical Computer Mouse Design

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 28 -- Ravi S. Adapathya and Brian H. Leonard, both of Durham, N.C., have developed an ergonomic computer mouse.

An abstract of the invention, released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, said: "An ergonomic computer mouse has an arcuate top surface, a front end, a rear end, and left and right sidewalls. The top surface has a circular side view profile that extends from the front end to the rear end and is contiguous with finger buttons on the mouse. The surface of the left or thumb sidewall is uniquely contoured for the left side of the user's hand and thumb.
