House Considers Coast Guard Legislation

The Coast Guard Authorization bill for Fiscal Year 2008, H.R.2830, was debated by the House in late April. The bill would increase the Coast Guard budget to $8.4 billion, an increase of $200,000 over President George W. Bush's request. The Coast Guard Reserve would be authorized $126,883,000.
