This paper discusses a very important but frequently misunderstood aspect of parking structure design. The paper provides very interesting data on actual movements of posttensioned and precast parking structures. The discussers are the principal investigators for an ongoing PCI-funded study on volume change effects in precast buildings, which is referred to by the author.
