The city of Lexington issued the following news release:

Red raspberries, strawberries and blueberries topping a cream cheese pie formed the winning recipe Tuesday as Lucie Allen of Lexington won first place in the non-professional category of the Great American Pie Contest.

Lucie's Easy Fruit Cheesy Pie, was adapted from a Williams Sonoma recipe, according to Allen. She was presented a $150 gift certificate to Meijer, a crystal award donated by L V Harkness & Company and a first place ribbon.

Second place in the non-professional category - with a $100 gift certificate and a ribbon - went to Debra Vogt, Lexington, and her coconut pie. Third place - with a $50 gift certificate and ribbon ...
