WASHINGTON, July 3 -- Rep. Christopher Murphy, D-Connecticut, has introduced the Strengthening Transparency and Accountability in Federal Spending Act of 2008 (H.R. 6411), legislation that would "strengthen transparency and accountability in Federal spending."
The bill, introduced on June 26, was co-sponsored by Reps. Mark Souder, R-Indiana; Wm. Lacy Clay, D-Missouri; Edolphus Towns, D-New York; Virginia Foxx, R-North Carolina; John Shadegg, R-Arizona; and Henry Waxman, D-California. It was referred to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.
