Wet weather: With all of the wet weather and tornado warnings in the area, there were a lot more water grains in the air than we like to see, which really affected the Pro Stock cars more than the nitro cars. The extra water in the air displaces the oxygen that normally would go into the engines, but nitro crew chiefs can raise their compression and hop up the blowers to compensate. The track surface at Route 66 Raceway has always been good - like every track, it has its little problems with bumps and transitions - and fuel cars can run good numbers in any conditions.
