Often training courses are used as a short-term solution, but how can you make sure that courses are having the desired effect?
You probably know the sequence or something like it. Someone identifies that there is a business problem and senior management asks for a training course. The training department dutifully creates and delivers a course, since that is what they are there to do. Very little or any evaluation takes place other than a bit of feedback at the end, let alone measuring if the course has rectified the problem at a business level.
