When it comes to expanding its significant presence in the Quadstate region, FedEx is hitting the ground running.

The express and package delivery company is consolidating two FedEx Ground facilities in Frederick County, Va., into a new building on Shady Lane Road near the Route 37 bypass that circles the west side of Winchester.

About 11 acres in Annandale Industrial Park were sold to WESTCO Winchester, LLC, a company that builds facilities for FedEx, said Richard Bell, principal broker of Adams-Nelson Associates, Inc. in Winchester, who facilitated the sale. "It will be an area hub for distribution, and they will combine the operations in Fort Collier and Stonewall industrial parks."
