New initiatives at this year's Oceanology International 2008 (OI08)-such as the enhancement of its conference content and other new features, like a careers day-have helped to raise the bar in terms of the event's success and industry standing, according to conference organizers. These efforts by the organizers and the conference's industry partners, on top of the show's global relevance due to its focus on the factors that impact the oceans and the causes of climate change, were clearly endorsed by the record number of visitors who attended the pan-industry event in London, England, they continued.
