Mattie, a 7-year-old Boxer, and Darby, a 5-year-old Shih Tzu, have been a staple at the MBA Architects office in Holmen, Wis., since they were puppies, said their owner and office manager Becky Brockman.
"I didn't think it was fair to keep them in their kennels for nine hours," Brockman said. "They work into the atmosphere just fine."
Only one customer has left the building at the sight of the animals, Brockman said, while the business's 12 employees welcome the canines' company.
"I've had employees when they're stressed take a break and pet the dogs," she said.
Mattie and Darby spend their day roaming the building and greeting customers. And when Brockman is out of town, her receptionist ...
