Article: MARIETTA MILLAGE RATE UNCHANGED, PUBLIC HEARINGS PLANNED

The city of Marietta issued the following news release:

The city of Marietta intends to hold the current millage rate at 4.683 mills for the period beginning July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009. While the millage rate will remain the same as last year, an increase in property value reassessments through Cobb County will increase tax revenues for the city at 3.91 percent.

Public hearings planned

State law requires the city make public notification of the increase in tax revenues, and the city will hold public hearings before adopting the millage rate as part of the annual budget process.
