The office of Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., issued the following statement:
Today, U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) released the following statement after the Senate passed the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act (H.R. 6331), which makes critical improvements to Medicare. Importantly, the bill would reverse a 10.6 percent cut in reimbursements to doctors who treat Medicare patients.
The Senate passed the bill by a vote of 69-30, and it is now headed to the President's desk. Although the President has threatened to veto the bill, today's vote means that it has passed both houses of Congress by a veto-proof margin.
