In what's considered to be the Academy Awards of the culinary industry, Jeanie Roland, Chef at Punta Gorda's The Perfect Caper, was nominated for a prestigious 2008 James Beard Foundation Award. Out of thousands of culinary professionals nominated, Roland was one of 20 semifinalists for the Best Chef in the South award.

"It's a tremendous honor to be recognized by the James Beard Foundation," says Roland, "I'm constantly in pursuit of perfection and aim to bring home the top honor in 2009."
