Article: DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT ANNOUNCES AVAILABILITY OF VOLUNTEER FIRE ASSISTANCE GRANT FUNDS FOR RURAL COMMUNITY FIRE DEPARTMENTS

The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management issued the following news release:

The Department of Environmental Management, in cooperation with the US Forest Service and the RI Forest Fire Advisory Committee, announces the availability of grants for rural wild land fire suppression planning, training and equipment. The grants range in amounts from $1,000 to $6,000 and are being made available through the federal Volunteer Fire Assistance program.
