Article: SPRING MILL CELEBRATES AMERICA'S SECOND MAN IN SPACE

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources issued the following news release:

Blast off to Spring Mill State Park the weekend of July 18-20, to help celebrate Gus Grissom Days.

Visitors can enjoy a variety of space-related fun and games as the park celebrates the life of Virgil I. "Gus" Grissom, one of the original seven Mercury astronauts, and America's second man in space. Grissom went on to participate in the Gemini and Apollo programs.

On Friday, create your own guide to the planets in our Milky Way, find out how to cook food with just sunlight, be a part of the paper airplane contest, and craft a unique "clock" that will let you tell time using the stars.
