The New York State Attorney General issued the following news release:
Attorney General Andrew M. Cuomo today announced that his office has issued more than $900,000 in restitution to approximately 270 African-American and Latino borrowers who experienced discriminatory lending practices by GreenPoint Mortgage. Further, the office is proceeding with its investigation into potential discriminatory pricing by various mortgage brokers that did substantial business with GreenPoint. Greenpoint is a subsidiary of Capital One Financial Corporation.
