Smooth jazz superstar Kenny G will bring his world tour to the Palace Theatre, 34 W. Broad St., on June 11. He is currently touring in support of his new album, "Rhythm & Romance." While the Grammy-winning saxophonist may be associated with "easy listening" pop music, it was urban radio that helped him build his fan base.

"When I first started, I was playing really small clubs and it was a predominantly African-American audience," he said. "We're talking about the early '80s. There were radio stations that would play instrumental music. They'd play Grover Washington Jr., they'd play George Howard, they'd play David Sanborn," he said.
