Article: Israeli Inventors Develop Calcium Salts Preparation Processes

ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 21 -- Valerie Niddam-Hildesheim of Ein Vered, Israel, and Greta Sterimbaum of Rishon-Lezion, Israel, have developed a rosuvastatin calcium preparation process.

According to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention provides processes for preparing calcium salts of statin, particularly rosuvastatin calcium salt substantially free of impurities on an industrial scale."

The inventors were issued U.S. Patent No. 7,396,927 on July 8.
