Introduction
Breast cancer is the most common malignancy among women globally. In India, breast cancer, though less common than in western populations, has become the leading cancer in females in metropolitan cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata and Bhopal overtaking carcinoma cervix, which was the number one cancer in the past. [1] Until recently, the main thrust in breast cancer control has been on early detection and treatment. But now the risk assessment and prevention of breast cancer is gaining importance.
