WASHINGTON, July 22 -- Rep. Dan Burton, R-Indiana, has introduced the Relief Now on the Road to Renewable Energy Act of 2008 (H.R. 6544), legislation that would "provide immediate relief from high fuel and food prices and to pursue alternatives in renewable energy."

The bill was introduced on July 17. It was referred to the House Ways and Means Committee; House Energy and Commerce Committee; House Natural Resources Committee; House Armed Services Committee; and House Science and Technology Committee.
