Transas Marine (U.K.) Ltd. (St. Petersburg, Russia) has recently introduced special systems which may be used to handle oil-tanker accidents and their consequences with respect to environmental and human activity factors, according to a spokesman.
The oil spill response management system (OSRMS) is multifunctional depending on the current conditions. It can be used either as computer support to assist in prediction in the event of an actual oil spill, or as a simulation environemnt for the training of specialists responsible for oil spill response matters.
