5-year results: LASEK with excimer system safe, effective

Retrospective study demonstrates that only 7% of patients require enhancement procedure

Chicago-Five-year results after LASEK correction of high myopia with an excimer laser system (Allegretto Wave, Alcon Laboratories) indicate that the procedure is very safe and effective. Only 7% of patients required an enhancement procedure, and no complications developed other than haze. Andreas Kuchar, MD, reported the findings at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
