WASHINGTON, July 24 -- Sen. Jon Tester, D-Montana, has introduced the Dr. Joseph Medicine Crow Congressional Gold Medal Act (S. 3283), legislation that would "award a congressional gold medal to Dr. Joseph Medicine Crow, in recognition of his especially meritorious role as a warrior of the Crow Tribe, Army Soldier in World War II, tribal historian, and author."
The bill, introduced on July 17, was co-sponsored by Sens. Max Baucus, D-Montana, and Mike Enzi, R-Wyoming. It was referred to the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee.
