ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 24 -- Gary A. Sigel of Millersville, Pa., Larry W. Leininger of Akron, Pa., Craig W. DeSantis of Brunnerville, Pa., Michael H. Maney of Oneida, Tenn., and Burton L. Wilson of Pine Knot, Ky., have developed a coated hardwood composite flooring.
According to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The methods for making a coated thin veneer, plank or wood product in which the coated surface does not crack due to instability of the wood involve applying to a veneer, plank or wood product a composition including a hydrophilic polymer and a reactive monomer or a composition including a reactive (meth)acrylate.
