GE Foundation Awards $18M Grant To Improve Student Achievement In City's Public Schools

Through the Fund for Public Schools, the General Electric Foundation this recently awarded the Department of Education a five-year grant of $18 million to better prepare middle school students for college and career opportunities, with a particular focus on improving achievement in math and science. This grant represents the largest single corporate contribution to the New York City public school system.
