The central focus of this illustrated large-format volume is on the remarkable 2003 archaeological finds made at Kerna in the northern Sudan. Led by Charles Bonnet, the University of Geneva's Archaeological Mission discovered the well-preserved and largely complete fragments of seven monumental black granite statues, five of which portray Nubian pharonic rulers.
