"Twenty years ago, a laundry room was usually in the basement," says Curt Spicher, president of Hagerstown-based Spicher's Appliances and Electronics, Inc. "Now, they're just off the family room, kitchen or master bedroom so appliance colors have become more fashionable-aspen green, arctic blue, Tuscan chestnut and silver. The hottest color now is fire engine red.
