"Twenty years ago, a laundry room was usually in the basement," says Curt Spicher, president of Hagerstown-based Spicher's Appliances and Electronics, Inc. "Now, they're just off the family room, kitchen or master bedroom so appliance colors have become more fashionable-aspen green, arctic blue, Tuscan chestnut and silver. The hottest color now is fire engine red.
"With electronics, the TV are all thin. LCD and plasma are still competing, but it looks like the LCD TVs will probably win out because they cost less to produce.
