EUROPE
Europe's three leading coated woodfree paper manufacturers Sappi, Lecta and M-real have separately announced plans to curtail their production over the next few months.
Sappi's subsidiary Sappi Fine Paper Europe will reduce its fine paper production in the coming months by around 50,000-60,000 tonnes. The figure includes some maintenance and technical standstills it was planning to take during the period. The downtime will not lead to any job cuts.
The firm said that it will be mostly mills producing coated woodfree sheets that will be affected.
