Sodium chlorate cartel fines

The European Commission (EC) has fined a group of sodium chlorate producers a total of more than Euro 79 million ($124 million) for market sharing and price fixing activities between 1994 and 2000.

The firms concerned are Akzo Nobel of the Netherlands and its parent company EKA Chemicals of Sweden, Aragonesas Industries y Energia and Uralita of Spain, Arkema France and EIf Aquitaine of France, and Erikem Luxembourg and Finnish Chemicals.
