Dear Editor:
The January 2007 issue of The Canadian Journal of Psychiatry, which focused on cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) for depression, is another encouraging example of the Canadian Psychiatric Association taking a leading role in disseminating advances in CBT to Canadian psychiatrists and other mental health workers.
Dr Zareteski's guest editorial' introduced many developments in CBT for mood disorders. However, we want to highlight an important omission of James P McCullough, Jr, who developed the Cognitive Behavioural Analysis System of Psychotherapy (CBASP) for chronic depression.2'3 His work was mentioned, in a cursorily fashion, in the article by Kuyken et al.4 The treatment ...
