South Korean Inventors Develop X-ray Tube System with Carbon Nanotube Substrate

ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 29 -- Jong Uk Kim and Hae Young Choi, both of Seoul, South Korea, have developed an X-ray tube system.

An abstract of the invention, released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, said: "Disclosed is an X-ray tube system with a disassembled carbon nanotube substrate for generating micro focusing level electron beams. A housing provides a vacuum space. An anode forms an electric field by a voltage applied from the outside and accelerates the electrons emitted from the cathode to reach the anode itself.
