German Inventors Develop Waterless Waterwashable Offset Printing Ink

ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 30 -- Christian Johnke of Frankfurt am Main, Germany, and Bernard Fritz of Bruchkobel, Germany, have developed a water washable printing ink.

According to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A water washable waterless offset printing ink comprised of a binding agent having a solid resin in an ester solvent, and an alkyd resin and/or an oil of one or more aliphatic carboxylic acid esters; a colorant; and a neutralizing agent."

The inventors were issued U.S. Patent No. 7,402,615 on July 22.

The patent has been assigned to Sun Chemical Corp., Parsippany, N.J.
