Desert workforce facing challenges in finding suitable, affordable apartments

Every morning in the Coachella Valley, thousands of desert residents pile into their cars in Indio (or Coachella or Desert Hot Springs) to begin their days with long commutes to their jobs in other desert cities. These long morning commutes reflect a disheartening reality facing the desert's workforce today: a stark disconnect exists between the cost of housing and the avenge wage a desert resident is able to earn.
